1. Did it repeat?
Two behaviourally specific prompts record frequency. Low repetition is limited current evidence, not a claim about what you could do in another role or with another opportunity.
This personal strengths test looks for recent evidence rather than asking you to claim a talent label. Across the past eight weeks, explore where repeated action, energy after using it, and observable usefulness converge—and where a reported watch-out needs context.
Current contribution evidence, not a talent label.
This original reflection does not measure innate talent, objective ability, intelligence, personality type, character virtue, job fit, or permanent potential.
What the result keeps visible
Repeated action
Two items ask how often the contribution actually appeared in the eight-week window.
Energy after using it
Two items ask what usually happened to energy after the enacted contribution.
Observable usefulness
Two items ask what direct signs showed that the intended context benefited.
Direct watch-out
One separate item reports a specific counter-pattern; it is never inferred from a high score.
The three-pillar model
A current strengths-in-action signal is the intersection of a repeated contribution behaviour, relatively energising experience after using it, and observable signs that it was useful in the intended context. The core score uses a geometric mean, so a high pillar cannot fully compensate for an absent one.
Two behaviourally specific prompts record frequency. Low repetition is limited current evidence, not a claim about what you could do in another role or with another opportunity.
Two prompts ask about relative energy after the contribution. The explicit middle anchor prevents a missing example from being forced into energising or depleting.
Two prompts distinguish private impression from direct signs in one or several settings. The evidence is still self-reported, not an objective performance measure.
The seventh block asks one specific counter-pattern per dimension. Its frequency is displayed separately. It does not subtract from the core index, and the scorer never assumes that a frequently used contribution is automatically overused.
Six finite contribution patterns
Six deliberately finite and non-exhaustive contribution patterns across an eight-week recall window. The model does not claim to contain every way a person can contribute well.
Turning scattered information, ambiguous language or a confused discussion into a frame that another person can understand and use.
Creating workable alternatives and converting uncertainty into small trials that can reveal something before a large commitment is made.
Turning a real need into a concrete, usable result and revising it against what happens in practice until it is dependable enough for its purpose.
Restoring movement by reducing a large intention to a clear next action, removing a practical obstacle or making ownership and handoffs visible.
Helping another person understand, practise or decide in a way that increases their future independence rather than making you permanently necessary.
Making different needs, language and constraints visible so people can coordinate or form workable common ground without erasing real disagreement.
Administration and scoring
Think about the past eight weeks across work, study, home, care, community activity and personal projects. Answer from things you actually did, not what sounds admirable. Low repetition can simply mean that the situation did not give you an opportunity. For an energy question with no recent example, choose the middle 'No clear or judgeable change' response instead of guessing; the repetition pillar will preserve the lack of current evidence.
Each dimension has two repetition items, two energy items, two observable-usefulness items and one separate watch-out item. The core score is a geometric mean so a high pillar cannot fully compensate for an absent pillar. Watch-outs are directly reported and never inferred from a high core score.
Pillar scores and the geometric index are positions in the possible response range. They are not percentiles, population comparisons, probabilities, ability estimates or validated cut scores.
Method and limits
This English form uses original Ikigain wording. It is not CliftonStrengths, StrengthsFinder, VIA, Strengths Profile, the Strengths Use Scale, or an official, short, or derived version of any of them.
Uniform responding is withheld. Other flags use editorial, pre-validation review thresholds: no more than two core response values or at least an 80% modal share indicates limited range, and at least 85% endpoint use indicates endpoint-heavy responding. These rules identify profiles that need review; they do not detect dishonesty or invalidate genuine answers.
Used for: Primary longitudinal evidence that strengths use, distinguished from merely possessing strengths, relates to later well-being indicators. No scale wording was used.
Used for: Primary psychometric evidence that strengths affinity/opportunity and active use can separate, plus explicit cautions about construct ambiguity and the need for objective criteria. No scale wording was used.
Used for: Primary evidence that strengths use can differ by goal and context rather than being adequately represented by one undifferentiated score. No scale wording or factor labels were reused.
Used for: Primary experience-sampling evidence connecting episodic strengths use with flow while also showing that apparently positive states can have context-dependent downsides.
Used for: Preliminary primary evidence that strengths-related behaviour can be experienced as underused or overused. It supports asking a separate context-bound watch-out, not inferring that more is always better. No VIA classifications or item wording were used.

VIA identifies its Survey, Classification and reports as copyrighted and requires permission for creating assessments from the classification; none were used.
Questions before you begin
A skill is a learned capability that needs direct performance evidence. This reflection asks whether six broad ways of contributing were repeated, energizing, and observably useful in a recent window. It can suggest where to gather better evidence, but it cannot verify proficiency or replace a work sample.
No. It reports current self-described evidence about six enacted contribution patterns. It cannot discover innate talent, objective ability, intelligence, character virtue, personality type, signature strength, or permanent potential.
Not necessarily, and it should not be treated as an equivalent. Those products use different constructs, item sets, scoring, evidence, and in some cases proprietary names. Ikigain reports six original contribution patterns from recent self-described evidence; it does not reproduce their instruments or promise a top-five profile.
Each pillar answers a different question. You can repeat something because a role requires it, enjoy something that does not help the intended result, or be effective while becoming depleted. A current candidate signal needs all three kinds of evidence to converge.
Not fully. The core index uses a geometric mean, so one high response-range score cannot erase an absent pillar. The result also keeps all three component scores visible because the shape is more useful than a single combined number.
No. Each pattern has one direct watch-out question in the final block. It is reported on its own frequency anchor and never manufactured from the core score. A watch-out can occur with a low, middle, or high current signal.
No. The eight-week window may not have supplied an opportunity, permission, safety, ownership, or relevant role. Limited current evidence is not evidence of inability and should not be used to stop developing a skill.
No. It is not for hiring, promotion, career matching, job-fit ranking, compensation, or other high-stakes decisions. Interests, capabilities, conditions, access, qualifications, values, and verified performance remain separate evidence.
No. The complete result appears immediately. Progress uses the secure assessment service, with only a bounded short-lived retry copy if a save is interrupted. Account access and newsletter consent remain separate choices.
Examples of contribution, evidence, energy, boundaries, and opportunity vary across language and culture. Each locale needs native redevelopment, cognitive interviews, rights review, and its own measurement evidence under a new version.
