Project Coordinator salary: pay and its limits
A familiar job title does not always have its own wage series. Here is how to compare pay without borrowing the wrong number.
Project Management Specialists is a broader occupation whose budgets, staffing authority and vendor responsibilities may be beyond a coordinator role. Its median is not a coordinator salary.
Read the figure carefully
What is—and is not—being measured.
BLS national pay and outlook data belong to the broader specialist occupation. Its budget, staffing, vendor, and plan-change responsibilities can exceed those of a coordinator. The measures cannot establish coordinator pay or demand on their own.
Because this title has no comparable wage series here, do not convert a related occupation’s median into a claimed salary for this role. Compare current local posts with similar duties and distinguish employee pay from contract revenue.

Use real postings as a second source.
Locally, ask who approves schedule changes, commits money, and assigns work. Compare pay and experience requirements among openings with similar authority. Check the industry too: a construction project and an internal service rollout may have different working conditions.
Save two or three listings with similar duties and location. Write down the advertised range, required experience, contract type and what is not stated. This comparison is more useful than converting a U.S. national median into another country’s currency.
