Will AI change high school math teacher work?
The useful question is not a made-up replacement percentage. It is which tasks can change, what must be checked and who remains accountable.

AI can draft a practice set or alternate explanation. It cannot judge a student's understanding, keep a class safe, or take responsibility for a grade. Check problems and solutions, align materials with the curriculum, and follow school rules about student data.
These are Ikigain’s examples and inferences about tasks, not a measured displacement forecast for this occupation. Employers differ in the information they allow into AI systems and in the standards a final output must meet.
A useful boundary
Draft. Verify. Decide.
Solve every generated item and check it against the curriculum and the students’ level.
Follow school policy for student information; a generated answer cannot assess a pupil or justify a grade.
Try the difference yourself
One comparison, not a verdict.
Explain one algebra idea to a volunteer in two different ways, then ask them to solve a new problem without a hint. Record which explanation helped. This is not the same as managing a classroom.
Try a small, fictional part with and without an AI draft. Note what saved time, what you had to correct, and what remained impossible to judge without context or permission. If a task involves safety, clients, pupils or confidential data, keep the experiment entirely fictional and follow professional rules.
