What is inside
Enough structure to begin.
Enough space to be honest.
- The four-circle diagramA visual reminder of interests, skills, contribution and income.
- Four questions and writing spacesRecord specific experiences, people and ideas you want to investigate.
- A pattern and a small actionNotice a connection, decide what to try and choose when to reflect on it.
The diagram is a reflection tool. Something can give your life meaning without meeting all four circles.
Think, write, act
How to use your worksheet
Print it and make a little space
Use A4 paper or choose “Fit to page” on Letter paper. Colour is optional; the worksheet also works in black and white. Bring a pen and give yourself 20–30 quiet minutes.
Write from experience
Try “I enjoyed teaching my colleague a shortcut” instead of “I like helping.” For skills, include feedback. For income, distinguish what you know from what you need to research.
Circle a connection and try something
Pick one small action that fits your time and responsibilities. Note when you’ll do it and what you want to learn. Come back afterwards and add what you noticed.
Keep a copy
Your next step can fit on one page.
The PDF is free to download directly. Print it again whenever you want to revisit your answers.
Prefer a link in your inbox?
Optional: enter your email and we’ll send the worksheet link. You can also download it above without sharing your email.

A small piece of Ikigain
Made to be used, revisited and lived.
The original Ikigain cards follow a think, write, act rhythm. This free worksheet carries that approach into one page. Read the story behind Ikigain →
Before you print
Is the ikigai template really free?
Yes. The one-page English PDF downloads directly, without payment or an email address. Email delivery is an optional convenience.
Can I type into this PDF?
This PDF is designed for handwriting. To type your answers, use the online reflection, then print or save your completed notes as a PDF.
What if my answers do not connect?
That is a useful place to begin. Leave a question open, ask someone for feedback, or try a small activity. You do not need a single answer that covers work, family, interests and everything else that matters.
Does the free test use my worksheet answers?
The test is a separate reflection with its own questions. It does not read or import your handwritten or online worksheet notes.
